Unless you are poor, brown, female, Jewish, or gay.

I’m not gonna tag this Disney cuz that’s rude, but I’m not into the Walt Disney worship I see here on Tumblr, or in real life. The man was a racist and sexist bigot who designed Disney Land as a tribute to a pastoral version of America that never existed. He placed it in Anaheim, where minorities who were too poor and marginalized in Southern California to, by and large, afford cars could not get to it, and instructed admissions employees to discourage them from coming. He refused to hire black or brown people except one woman who was forced to perform in near-minstrel capacity as Aunt Jemima in the Aunt Jemima Pancake House on Orleans Street. He also was a public supporter of some of the most vile anti-Semites in America.

You can talk about modern Disney and all the progress its made from these frankly nauseating beginnings, but holding Walt Disney up as some champion of individuality, self-expression, and self-esteem is a damn lie. He only wanted you to be yourself if you were white and middle class.

On top of all that, he stole the design for Mickey Mouse and the entire Disney animation style from Ub Iwerks, his former partner, then tossed him out. Iwerks would go on to train the animators at both Warner Bros. and MGM, becoming the father of modern animation, but it still makes Walt a huge traitorous scumbag on top of everything else. Also he had people shove lemmings off a cliff for his nature show in order to claim that that’s what lemmings do. Fuck Walt Disney. And I’m more than rude enough to tag this post Disney.

EATONTOWN — Officer Philip Emanuele sat hunched over and sobbing in a chair in a Monmouth County courtroom on Friday morning.
The victim, a 24-year-old woman, struggled to speak through tears of her own as she explained to the court, in graphic detail, how Emanuele used the threat of prison for a theft charge she had pending to take advantage of her.
This culminated with an incident inside a van in a church parking lot, where she says Officer Emanuele raped her after she refused to perform oral sex on him.
“I am here to say that Emanuele is a sex offender who singles out unfortunate and vulnerable women with no remorse and must be labeled as such,” said the woman.
Before sentencing Emanuele, Judge Scully gave him an opportunity to speak on his own behalf.
Through a barely audible whimper, the former police officer acknowledged what he had done and said he wanted to go on with his life.
“You are not going to jail, as we traditionally know the concept of jail, today. But with many respects, given what your childhood dream was, you’re going to be in jail the rest of your life,” said the Judge.
Scully then sentenced Emanuele to five years of probation for the third-degree criminal coercion charge and three years of probation for the fourth-degree tampering with evidence charge, which will run concurrently.
Yet, Judge Scully still called Emanuele “fortunate,” because of the large amount of support he had from his friends, family and wife even after, Scully said, he broke their hearts with his selfish actions.
It was because of this support system that Scully did not impose additional fines on Emanuele, because he said doing so would further punish those loyal people Emanuele had already hurt.
Following the sentencing, there were more tears outside the courtroom.
The victim and her family were disappointed that the plea agreement was upheld.

…

WHAT GARBAGE…a pubic official has to set examples and he used his position as a weapon.  If this man was a ordinary student, a non white person or a just a regular guy without money…..JAIL TIME, no explanation would have got them out of it.  This is fucking sickening!

I’m seeing red here. The justice system is such a farce.

But people… don’t you see? It’s not jail timein the traditional sense…
but he’s going to feel badly. And emotions are their own jail!
It’s… it’s so meta. The judge has transcended doing his job and now delivers abstract judgments. It’s so beautifully poetic! Let’s fire him, so that he can spend the rest of his days passing purer forms of judgment than the justice system can deliver. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

There’s a reason that every election, when I reach the section where it asks which judges should retain their seats, I vote “no” on all of them. Better to replace all the judges each election than unknowingly allow someone like this to continue “serving”.

Frankie and I discuss our podcasts…

Gods, I hope that means I’m The Comedian.

I think that you are all too closely to The Comedian. Maybe I’m Rorschach? I don’t know.

Why are people comparing themselves to a sociopathic, mass-murdering rapist and a sociopathic, mass-murdering, delusional, paranoid, Randian manchild on my dashboard? Is it “say things that make Alan Moore hate his own work because people admire the characters meant to be either hated or pitied” month again?
